Longfellow Theater Presents: Cheerleaders VS. Aliens

The Aliens have arrived at Longfellow Middle School and none of our brains are safe (these particular aliens need human brain goo to fuel their Rocket apparently)! Based on the title, it is not a spoiler to say that it is up the cheerleaders to try to fend off this alien invasion and protect the brains of their fellow classmates!

My kids have been included in Longfellow theater for the last few years, and finding ways to support the school and community is always fun. Last year, I took photos of two performances of The Lion King (it was spectacular!), and I jumped at the opportunity to help the cast get the word about their current performance, Aliens Vs Cheerleaders. We took advantage of a dress rehearsal, and I set up a little studio at the school. Fortunately, we captured the various cast groups, the crew, and even some photos of the aliens without them capturing our brains.

I also had the opportunity to photograph two of their performances, and they just crushed it!

BTS: Cohen (oldest of our three) is now that wonderful age where he can be an official photo assistant. Here he is demonstrating the key abilities of "stand there so I can test the lighting setup" and "hit them with the canned fog when I tell you". He performed both roles admirably - and may just show up at more shoots soon.
