Love, laughter and the moments that matter
“Love, laughter and the moments that matter” - I try to capture one or more of these virtues in all of my photographs.
On Emily’s recent birthday, this phrase really hit me in relation to her and to our life together.
Moments
For over 15 years, we have shared our most important moments. Together we have experienced joy and loss and anxiety and grief and confusion and discovery and depression. We have faced adversity and jumped off cliffs into the unknown together. The momentum of our with-ness carries us forward, even at times against the current when life was hard.
Laughter
She is my favorite person to laugh with. Sometimes it is the mirth in her eyes, or the depth to which we know each other - other times it our laughter comes from parenting our 3 crazy, eclectic children.
Love
It is hard to imagine most of my life without Emily’s love. Love is the fabric that holds everything between two people - feeling and resolve made into canvas. Love is the with-ness that allows mountains to be moved, courage to be found and vulnerability to be drawn out. And we have moved mountains - particularly in last few years.
When you put all this together - life really works
In the process of editing this photo, I tried lots of variations. I ended up loving them all
