Milwaukee is a great place to be engaged and get married!

From its fusion of classic and modern architecture to a fabulous lakefront and its many hidden gems, there are so many fun little spots that make engagement photos feel memorable and uniquely you.

For Candace & Jared, we had a limited window of time for their shoot, so we chose Lakeshore State Park. It’s one of my favorites! I love how it offers direct access to Lake Michigan, sweeping views of the Milwaukee skyline, and a scenic walking path with bridges, ponds, and tall grasses (depending on the season). It’s like a mini Milwaukee sampler—all in one beautiful spot.

One of the main goals for their session was to help them get comfortable in front of the camera. Like many couples who tell me they're “not good at taking photos,” Candace and Jared really benefited from the experience. I love helping couples enjoy the photography process, which is mostly just having fun together with a photographer there to direct and capture it all!

While we might have been “practicing”, we were very productive with our time, and they ended up using a different engagement photo as part of the centerpiece for each of their tables at their wedding (stay tuned for that to show up on the blog soon!)
