Alexandria & Joshua's LOTR-inspired St John's on the Hill and Onesto Wedding!
Alexandria and Joshua had a fun vision an intimate St John's on the Hill and Onesto wedding with a dash of LOTR (Lord of the Rings) inspiration.
I started the day with Alexandria at her childhood home (which is about five blocks from my house, #smallwaukee!), where she was getting ready with her best ladies and family. I love that her something borrowed was vintage Dyables shoes that her mother wore at her wedding. Even though it was early in the day, there were lots of feels to document as Alexandria had some really thoughtful gifts to share with her parents before she practiced her father-daughter dancing skills with her dad.

From there, we headed over to Schlitz Park by the river downtown to meet up with Joshua for the First look and some photos. The groom and groomsmen looked super dapper in tan suits with green Elvin pins on their lapels. The wedding party was a lot of fun, and we jumped and danced and posed and walked until we had created some amazing memories and images together.
Next, we slipped across town to St. John’s on the Hill - a stunning historic church with a magical one-of-a-kind sanctuary full of light and ambiance. There, they stood in front of their friends and family and made tearful promises to each other. I LOVED that we were able to have a little couple session in one of the giant stairwells and was honestly giddy about how amazing the photos looked in camera (just ask the bridesmaids who came along to assist the couple for this part - I kept making her look at the back of the camera to see all the magic she was helping us create).
From there, we headed to Onesto for feasting and first dances, as well as some of the couple’s favorite games and some emotional speeches. Joshua had wooden coasters for everyone as well as wooden placards with LOTR-inspired names for each table. When it was time for the couple to leave, we headed for the Pierhead light by the Hoan Bridge for some more couple photos before ending up at the Ambassador Hotel for an Epic Newlywed Lightsaber Battle. It was honestly epic!
All in all, their day was joyful, whimsical, and magical. Joshua and Alexandria are fantastic humans, and I wish them all the love, laughter, and magic in their lives together!
