Kelsey & David's Double Farm Wisconsin Barn Wedding!

Kelsey & David's shared love for farms is great - it inspired them to craft their wedding day around two different Wisconsin Farms!

Check out their Wedding Reels: Part 1 & Part 2

They began their wedding day at the Historic Johnston Home at Beatha Ur Farm - a lovely farmhouse turned Air B&B that has been lovingly restored and updated without losing even a bit of its historic charm. According to Air B+B, the home was “Built in 1868 by the Johnston Cookie Company family, the Italianate farmhouse has relaxing areas with country charm outside and is steeped in old-world elegance inside.” It was a beautiful and spacious spot for the Bride and Groom and their wedding party to relax and get ready.

After perfecting their wedding day fits, the couple met up on the grounds for a first look and private vows. I am often the only guest for private vow ceremonies, and I just love them (I use a zoom lens and silent shutter and keep far enough away not to spoil it)! Private moments are perfect for reading personal letters with details that are just for the couple - and - allow the couple to slow down and enjoy each word, emotion, and embrace.

When they were ready, their wedding party gathered around them for fun shenanigans and photos before we headed off to the next farm for part 2.

Gwenyn Hill Farm is a working farm where Kelsey has spent a lot of time. Gwenyn goes beyond simply growing food, they are a symbol of a different relationship that people can have with both their environment and the food they consume:

Nestled in the Kettle Moraine region of southeastern Wisconsin, Gwenyn Hill Farm grows certified organic produce and practices regenerative agriculture, maintaining the biodiversity of our fields and woodlands… Our farm is an interconnected, ecological web. We believe that conservation and farming go hand-in-hand. It’s not just about the health of our crops and livestock, but also the soil, woodlands, water and wildlife.

Kesley grew to love the farm as she worked their and shared their vision - so when she and David imagined their wedding day, they imagined it at Gwenyn Farm. They rented a tent and filled it with antique tables and vintage table settings. The grounds were immaculate and clean and still full of late summer flowers and plants. A pristine white barn stands in the middle of the ground, providing indoor space for cocktails, feasting, and dancing - as well as a wonderful weather backup plan (because Wisconsin)!

Everything about the day went perfectly, and we had so many opportunities to create and capture memories around the farm grounds. From the promises made to each other before family and friends to the quiet moments stolen on the grounds, the feasting and dancing, and the deserts made by friends, Kesley and David’s wedding day was full of Love, Laughter, and the Moments that truly Matter!

Kelsey & David are wonderful, grounded humans who are deeply in love and so much fun to be with - I wish them all the love and happiness in their lives together!
